To A Tee: Everyone Is Dying To Wear Tea Dyed Tees
Oconee, South Carolina, August, 2009: Tea Dyed Tees offers a fun, fashionable way to enjoy your tea – by wearing it. Tea expert and entrepreneur Janis Badarau – founder, editor, and publisher of TeaGuide Worldwide Tea Directory (http://www.TeaGuide.net) and Tea Entrepreneurs Association (http://www.TeaEntrepreneurs.org) – has launched yet another brainchild for tea lovers. Find stylish tea shirts, tank tops, embroidered blouses, trend-setting scarves, home décor, Battenburg lace gifts, and an exclusive line of laundry soap for expert care of each artistic creation. Badarau’s experience dyeing with tea spans many years, originally limiting her handicrafts to gifts for friends and “friends of friends.” Recently, in response to increased demand for her work, Badarau opened her Tea Dyed Tees shop to the public.
Each Tea Dyed Tees piece is an exclusive, unique, handcrafted work of wearable art, dyed with real tea (Camellia sinensis). Shades range from a warm golden "tea with honey," to a rosy beige, to a rich brown “tea with milk.” All pieces are available plain and pure, or can be embellished with Tea Dyed Tees’ signature designs: the “cha” Chinese character for tea, elegant tea leaves, or a variety of other motifs. Each design is offered in your choice of complementary color for year-round fashion.
A Brief History of Tea Dyeing (http://www.teadyedtees.com/about.html) – During Victorian times, fabrics of all kinds were dyed with tea to produce a “vintage” appearance. But this art may have begun even earlier as references have been found dating back to 1869 Venetian nobility. Everything old truly is new again.
Because tea colors tend to be unstable, tea is often blended with commercial dyes and chemicals to achieve precise colors and effects. Badarau, however, has developed an all-natural formula for tea dyeing that stabilizes and enhances the full spectrum of tea colors. She never uses commercial dyes or chemical additives. Every Tea Dyed Tees textile is dyed naturally with tea – and only tea – utilizing a proprietary dyeing process for utmost color depth and preservation through numerous washings.
Tea Dyed Tees products are available both retail and wholesale. Contacts above. For media inquires and further contact information please email tea@teadyedtees.com
